Cat attacks towards people and/or animals, an educational pending task on pet’s owners?

This study aimed to explore the context and characteristics of domestic cats’ (Felis catus) attacking their owners or other pets probable risk factors. A survey was targeted persons perceiving that cat attacked people or/and animals. Only no-stray, healthy information were included. 48 questions covered general owners, type house; age sex, color, medical record cats; on which aggression pet took place; handling habitudes in owner-cat interaction. Chi-square Fisher test used compare frequency cat’s between cats with without attacks towards and/or Risk factors analysis made WinEpi©. The 154 obtained, 91.5% declared play cats, 63 performed animals past three months. 8 (5.2%) perceived by as non-aggressive, fact most commons wounds reported scratches bites (68.2%), largely considered (76.2%) no needing revision. 62% events preceded vocalization body posture changes cats. significant higher proportion combining < 2years, nonexclusive litter box aggressions. Cats 2 years resulted 4.7 32.2 more probabilities perform aggression. absence also factor. Owner attitudes minimizing could imply maintenance unwanted behaviors accidental during human-animal interaction deserve deeper studies due possible zoonosis owners.
